If you have never used an online doctor, it can be hard to tell which screen actually puts you in the queue. Entering an identity number, filling in a registration form and joining a consultation are different steps. This guide explains what each one does on teleconsult.sg.
Teleconsult is a shorter name for teleconsultation. Here, it means a GP video appointment provided by DigitalHealth.sg. You can use the browser route without installing the clinic app, or choose a WhatsApp video call. Both routes lead to an assessment by a doctor.
Can I consult without an app or Singpass?
Yes. On teleconsult.sg, choose Browser for a video consultation without installing the clinic app. Singpass is optional: choose Register manually if you need to create a patient record without MyInfo. You still need to provide the patient’s identity and contact details and complete email verification.
Keep your identification, a working email address and a reachable mobile number ready. If you are already registered with the clinic, try the existing-patient route with your identity number first. Manual registration is an alternative way to enter the details, not a way to skip identity checks.
Check the queue before filling in your details
Open the live queue to see whether the clinic is accepting patients and to read any announcement. Usual hours are weekdays, 9am–1pm Singapore time, excluding public holidays. A patient count is a snapshot of demand, not a promised appointment time. Leave enough time to remain available for the call.
Read the suitability guidance before joining. HealthHub explains that some concerns need an examination or tests that cannot be completed over video. If you have already been advised to attend in person, keep that plan. Do not wait in an online queue for a life-threatening emergency; call 995.

Browser or WhatsApp: which video option should I choose?
With the browser option, follow the waiting-room instructions and allow camera and microphone access when requested. Keep the consultation page available. With WhatsApp, provide a number on which you can receive the doctor’s call and follow the clinic’s instructions after joining.
Choose based on the device and connection you can reliably use, rather than the option you think will move faster. An enquiry to the care team does not itself register you or reserve a queue position.

| What you need | Browser video | WhatsApp video |
|---|---|---|
| Where the call happens | In the consultation page in your browser | Through the clinic’s WhatsApp video-call workflow |
| App requirement | No clinic app installation | WhatsApp set up on a number where you can receive calls |
| Before the call | Allow camera and microphone access and keep the waiting page available | Keep the registered WhatsApp number reachable and follow the joining instructions |
| Queue entry | Complete registration and the joining steps on this site | Complete registration and the joining steps; a support message alone does not join the queue |
Complete the patient details and “Before you join” questions
An existing patient can continue with an NRIC, FIN or passport number. If the clinic cannot find a matching patient, the next step is registration. A new patient can also choose Register manually directly. Singpass MyInfo is another route where available; check any retrieved details before completing the form.
The short “Before you join” dialog asks about medication needs and optional remarks. Selecting Yes tells the doctor what you want to discuss; it does not create a prescription. Tick CHAS Blue only if it applies and show your card during the consultation for the clinic-funded reduction. Submit carries those choices forward. Cancel leaves your earlier submitted choices unchanged.
Manual registration asks for patient, contact, address and allergy information, including email verification. Register the person who will speak with the doctor. Take a moment to check the mobile number and email: mistakes make follow-up harder even if the identity number is correct.
Use the appointment to reach a clear care plan
Prepare a short account of what brought you here, when it began and what has changed. Keep medicine names and allergy details within reach. Let the doctor ask follow-up questions rather than trying to fit everything into your opening sentence.
Before finishing, check what you should do next, whether anything needs arranging and when to seek another review. An in-person referral can be the appropriate outcome of a video assessment. Registration or payment does not guarantee medicine, an MC or a particular treatment.
Keep payment, documents and delivery together
The care team coordinates payment and follow-up through WhatsApp. Check the itemised charges and any delivery arrangements. If a document is issued, keep its original link and ask the clinic to correct any details that look wrong.
If you lose the connection, try your existing consultation link or contact the care team before starting again. Explain that you have already registered so they can help with the right stage of your visit.
